Heavenly Reunion — Welcomed Into His Kingdom

Heavenly Reunion: Alex's Story

An encounter with Heaven, a mother's love, and a promise of reunion.

Some people come into our lives and leave an imprint on our hearts that never fades. Alex was one of those people.

Alex was a childhood friend of my son. They grew up together, attended church together, and our families were connected through the church community in our hometown. Over the years, I came to love Alex almost as though he were one of my own children.

He was the kind of person who brought warmth and joy wherever he went. Tall, gentle and full of life, Alex had an inquisitive spirit, a wonderful sense of fun and a genuinely beautiful heart. He was what you might call a gentle giant — someone whose kindness was as memorable as his presence.

As he grew older, Alex became a chef. He had a passion for food and a gift for bringing people together, something that would later become especially meaningful to me.

Then, one day, everything changed.

A Life Taken Too Soon

I received the heartbreaking news that Alex had been killed in a car accident after losing control of his vehicle.

I was devastated.

I had watched this young man grow up alongside my son. He wasn't simply someone I knew through church. He was part of our lives, part of our memories and someone I cared for deeply.

My heart ached for his family, especially his mother. I could only imagine the pain of losing a son so suddenly.

But in the midst of that grief, I experienced something extraordinary — something that has remained with me ever since.

A Glimpse of Heaven

Throughout my walk with God, I have experienced moments of spiritual revelation that I believe have been gifts from the Lord. Sometimes these have come as brief visions — glimpses that I have understood through prayer and my relationship with Him.

Following Alex's passing, I experienced one of those visions.

I saw what appeared to be the entrance to Heaven.

There were magnificent gates, unlike anything I had ever seen on Earth. Although we often hear them described as pearly gates, what I saw resembled flowing, liquid silver — radiant, beautiful and almost impossible to describe in earthly words.

Beyond them was a vast gathering place, almost like a grand foyer.

There were people everywhere.

The atmosphere was alive with joy and excitement. People were moving around, gathering together, greeting one another and celebrating. It reminded me of a bustling station, except everything was filled with an extraordinary sense of happiness.

I understood these to be people who had recently arrived in Heaven.

As I watched, my heart was searching for one person.

Alex.

And Then I Saw Him

I remember looking through the gates, searching among the people.

I had the sense that I could look inside, but not enter.

Then, suddenly, I saw him.

Alex turned and looked directly towards me.

It was almost as though he knew I was searching for him.

Our eyes met, and I was overwhelmed with joy.

There he is.

It's Alex.

In that moment, I felt an extraordinary sense of relief and happiness. After the heartbreak of hearing about his death, I was seeing someone I loved in a place filled with joy.

But what happened next made the experience even more remarkable.

When Jesus Entered

As I watched the gathering, Jesus appeared.

I did not see His face clearly, but I remember seeing His hands and a beautiful red-and-white tallit, a Jewish prayer shawl, draped around Him.

The moment He arrived, the atmosphere changed.

Everyone seemed to recognise Him instantly.

People rushed towards Him with excitement and overwhelming joy. They gathered around Him, eager to be close to Him, almost like a crowd welcoming someone they had been longing to see.

And Jesus welcomed them.

He embraced people, hugged them and greeted them with such warmth and happiness.

What struck me most was His joy.

He seemed genuinely delighted to see every person who approached Him.

There was no distance, no coldness, no formality — only love, affection and an extraordinary sense of welcome.

I watched as Jesus greeted the people gathered there and welcomed them into Heaven.

It was a picture of love and reunion that I will never forget.

A Message for His Mother

As Alex prepared to follow the others, he turned and looked back towards me.

In this experience, communication was different from the way we speak on Earth. There were no audible words, yet I understood what was being communicated.

And then I received a message from Alex that touched my heart deeply.

"Tell my mom I love her, and I'll have dinner prepared for her here."

I have carried those words with me ever since.

Alex had been a chef during his earthly life. Cooking was part of who he was. And in that moment, the message felt so unmistakably personal — so completely Alex.

Even in the midst of such an extraordinary experience, there was something beautifully familiar about him.

His love for his mother.

His connection to food.

His desire to prepare something for someone he loved.

For me, it was a deeply moving reminder of the love that had always been part of his character.

The Inspiration Behind Heavenly Reunion

This personal experience became the inspiration for our Temunah Art creation, Heavenly Reunion.

The artwork seeks to capture the joy, beauty and welcome that I experienced in that vision — the radiant gates, the gathering of people, the atmosphere of celebration and, above all, Jesus embracing those coming towards Him.

It is a visual expression of a deeply personal testimony, created in the hope that it might bring comfort, inspire faith and encourage reflection on God's love and His promise of eternal life.

For anyone who has experienced the loss of someone precious, I know that no artwork or words can take away the pain of their absence.

But my prayer is that this piece might offer a moment of peace and a reminder of the hope we have in Christ.

Jesus said:

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." — John 11:25 (KJV)

The experience I had following Alex's passing remains one of the most personal and meaningful moments of my spiritual journey.

And when I look at Heavenly Reunion, I remember the joy of seeing Alex, the warmth of Jesus welcoming the people before Him, and a young chef's loving message to his mother.

A reminder of faith, love and the beautiful hope of reunion in Christ.

With love and faith,
